Too Much of the Perfomance Was Pre-recorded
The background, most (if not all) of the singing and even the sound of the hard-shoes on the floor during the dance sequences sounded like they were pre-recorded, but I could tell that some of the instrumental solo pieces were live. When the principal female dancer lost one of her shoes in the middle of the performance, it was painfully evident. She's an awesome dancer and continued to dance like the pro that she is, but you heard the sound of two shoes hitting the floor when she only had one shoe on. This whole pre-recorded business was very off-putting despite the very good quality of the dancing. A decade or so ago, it didn't seem to have the energy that it did.
